Randy McCarty began his employment with McEvoy in April of 1992. He registered as an apprentice funeral director in 1993. He sat for the funeral director's examination in Nashville in 1995. He was licensed that same year in Tennessee and serves in that capacity today. Randy's duties as funeral director at McEvoy include the removal of the bodies from places of death, assisting in the preparation room, and preparing bodies for burial. He also works visitation and makes various arrangements with families for the funeral services to follow.
Randy also meets our families, gathers information for the obituary and appropriate forms, collects all data required by the state, sets funeral time and place, presents our general price list, helps the family in the selection of the casket and outside container, explains the cost of all items purchased and helps to see that all arrangements are carried out as planned.
Randy is our sound technician, making arrangements for music both in the chapel and at the graveside. Services are recorded on CD for our families. He also produces our "Memory Videos" by collecting and arranging photographs and putting them to music. This video is shown during visitation and makes a treasured keepsake. He has also developed many skills in various computer programs.
Randy is a native Henry Countian, graduating from Henry County High School in 1979, attended Murray State University for 2 1/2 years, and received electronics training at the Tennessee Technology Center for another year. He was employed with Sears in Paris for 13 years, working in sales, management, and automotive, and secured many educational opportunities during this time.
Randy and his son Carson make their home in Paris.
